@Enzo – I’m sorry I have no more suggestions, I would try a fresh install or another OS to confirm it’s not a hardware issue.

You’re not overclocking the GPU are you? That could definitely introduce artefacting if so. If not, maybe try underclocking? (I haven’t checked the ASRock BIOS to see if this is possible.)

Hi
i followed all the steps, when i press “o” the text is correct, but i still have problems with playback, strange lines on the screen and the weird thing is that i have these lines with low res videos too.
Using XBMC live everithing is ok, can you figure why it happens?

Thanks so much!I spent hours trying every concievable way of getting hdderase to work without the ancient floppy method not available to me.As well,i am sure i was having some combination of incompatibilities.This did the trick.

In truth I never like Ubuntu upgrades because of the trouble they can cause.

I would recommend checking that you have the nvidia driver running, then also check the BIOS for what size memory is allocated to the graphics. The maximum setting of 512MB helps a lot of people with problems.

Hi, thanks for the info. I have a problem with my Asrock/XBMC now that i upgraded from Karmic to lucid.

Movies I could see in Karmic without any problem I now have problem to watch. The sound and picture stutters.

Could you guide me so I again can enjoy my Asrock/XBMC.
